Friendsgiving Dessert Idea ?

Thanksgiving will for sure be looking a little different this year but I know I can still rely on ShopRite for everything I need for the upcoming Holiday. I know I usually attend Friendsgiving events each year but this year we will for sure be keeping things small. ShopRite set up a fun Virtual Friendsgiving with me and a few other bloggers and I thought this was such a fun idea! If you are not familiar with ShopRites Price Plus Club, they have a loyalty program where every dollar you spend transfers to points and you can use these points towards a holiday dinner item! Most years we get our holiday turkey on the house from this program and they have a few other options as well. You can learn more about it HERE.

For my course I choose to make a cinnamon bread pudding and let me just say it was a huge hit with my husband! It was also very easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf Thomas Cinnamon swirl bread
  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 tablespoons Country Crock butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar (you can add more if you like sweeter)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and butter a 9×13 inch baking dish. Over low heat combine the milk, butter, sugar and salt until the butter melts. Set the mixture to the side and allow it to cool down. Mix the cinnamon and eggs and beat together in a separate bowl. Once the milk mixture has cooled down combine the egg mixture and milk mixture.

Cube the loaf of bread (i usually leave the ends out) and put in a baking dish and pour the egg and milk mixture on top. Make sure all the bread is coated. Bake in the oven for 50-60 minutes. I usually serve with a scoop of Bowl & Basket vanilla ice cream! It will stay well for a few days in the fridge just make sure to keep it covered.
