Health Tip Tuesday: Healthy Lifestyle Hacks

I am so happy you guys loved my idea of doing a “health tip Tuesday” each week so I am back again! I know I mentioned this last week in my post but I am not a doctor or trained health professional I just love learning about how to feel your best and how to stay healthy. I have researched and received a lot of advice over the years and I love to share what I have learned with you guys and hopefully it will help each of you reading this to feel good!

This week I wanted to give you a few healthy lifestyle hacks. I am a firm believer in creating a healthy life style that is able to be easily maintained and one that you love. Not something that is a burden and you dread each day. SO I wanted to give a few tips that I personally do to help me stay on track.

tip # 1

Make your workouts short and enjoyable. I have found myself over the years setting a time that I had to workout for. I would tell myself I HAD to go to the gym and workout for exactly one hour. This in turn made me absolutely dread going to the gym and working out and was not something that I was able to keep up with long term. I have found that doing shorter workouts with something you enjoy doing (I know you might not LOVE it but something that you don’t dread doing) For example I have really found that I love biking. I wake up and ride the Peloton most mornings and usually I only do a 20 or 30 minute class. I found doing these shorter classes and working out for a shorter amount of time actually motivates me to keep working out each morning. I also keep small gym equipment like THIS weight set and THESE resistance bands around to do a quick 10 minute workout in between Lukes naps on days that I don’t get to Bike in the morning.

tip # 2

I talked about this in lasts weeks post too but DRINK WATER! It is so important to stay hydrated and there are so many benefits to it. I also find that when I do drink water I feel better! A few things I do to make sure I am drinking enough water are using something to flavor it – I linked Kombucha tablets in my last post linked HERE that I love. I also always make sure I fill THIS cup up every morning with ice water and I refill it through out the day. I just feel like water tastes better out of this cup haha!

tip # 3

Eat clean. I don’t eat clean always and for sure treat myself but 80% of the time I try to. I have always followed the 80/20 rule. Meaning 80% of the time I eat clean and healthy foods but I still for sure treat myself. I think this is the only way to maintain healthy eating long term. Completely taking out a food group or any unhealthy foods has never worked for me in the past. I keep THESE bars around the house as well as THESE seaweed snacks.

tip # 4

Stay positive! I think we all struggle with this sometimes. I read an article the other day and it talked about how we should say “Yes I can” more often. Sometimes you just need a reminder that you CAN do it and staying positive is so much better for you mentally and physically! I started using a habit tracking planner for each day and I really feel like it has helped me to stay on track and feel more organized I will link it HERE. One of the things I really wanted to be better about was taking my vitamins daily and this planner really helps.
