I always get a little sad at the start of August because that means Summer will soon be coming to and end. It always goes by so quickly! I really don’t know where July went this year. It seriously flew by! I guess having a newborn at home and a very long to do list will probably partially explain why I think it went so fast haha. Luke will be 3 months old in a little over a week and it is giving me all the feels. I feel like it was just May and he was a tiny little guys. Well he’s still tiny but growing FAST. Moral of my story here is time goes by way too fast!
With that being said I am not ready to let go of Summer yet. I found this dress from one of my favorite online stores, Red Dress and thought it was the prefect neutral yet fun dress to wear through August and with a jean jacket in September! Dresses are one of my favorite transition pieces since its so easy to throw a dress on with a Denim jacket or Cadigan and some boots in the Fall and sandals and a hat in the Summer months. The color of this dress is also so gorgeous! I am a neutral girl but I will occasionally reach for a more colorful piece during the Summer months. I am linking up full outfit details below!
I am always trying to think of healthier options when it comes to food! I absolutely love little sliders during the summertime and they are such a fun appetizer to serve at a BBQ! These are a lightened up version and SO yummy. I pan fried my turkey burgers (you can also use regular beef burgers) but these would also be great grilled. The zucchini can be grilled as well or baked in the oven.
1 package Ground turkey
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp seasoning (I use Montreal steak seasoning)
Toppings- I use cheese and pickles
Mix together the group turkey, Soy Sauce and seasoning and patty your mini turkey burgers. Cut Zucchini into slices (careful not to cut them too thin or they will be too floppy) and bake in the oven at 425 degrees for 7-8 minutes. You can either pan fry your turkey burgers or grill them up. Add the cooked burgers to the zucchini “buns” add your toppings and stick a toothpick through and you are all set! So easy to make and sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Daily Planner– I have a monthly planner as well but there wasnt enough room for me to write what I had to do daily in there. I feel SOO much more organized having this and I am such a visual person i like to check things off as they are completed so this makes me feel so much more accomplished.
Aerie Offline Leggings– I wore these my entire pregnancy and now after. They are really stretchy and also so comfy. I love that they are also really affordable- I reach for these everyday so I like to have a few pairs incase one of them is in the wash! They also come in a bunch of colors and cute prints too!
Yeti Cup– Another must have for me. This is the reason why I drink so much water. I fill this cup with ice water and some lemon a few times a day and for some reason it just tastes better out of this cup LOL.
iwatch– So long story short I lost my watch a few months back and I realized how often I used it and how much I missed it when I didn’t have this. I mostly use it for tracking my steps and workouts but its good to have to see if texts/calls are coming through if I don’t have my phone on me.
Silk Hair tie– I have been using these for years. This is a less expensive version of the slip silk ones. I tie my hair back with this at night and keep one downstairs during the day. I like these because they keep my hair smooth and crease free!
Space Saving Bottle Drying Rack – I hate cluttered counters and this makes my kitchen look neat even though there are usually a bunch of bottles drying!
Kyte Baby Footie- these are SO soft. They are a little on the expensive side for a baby onesie- around $32 but they are so soft and lightweight for summer.
Boudreaux’s Diaper Rash cream- we have tried a bunch of diaper rash creams and this one has been the best! I also just got the one with aloe in it to try out!
Bumco Bum Bum Brush- if there is one thing you must have for a new born its this! Instead of using your hands or putting diaper cream directly on the diaper this can be used to apply any diaper rash creams. I bought so many of these and keep them anywhere we might be changing a dirty diaper- car, baby bag, bedroom definitely a must have and its only a couple of bucks.
Hatch Baby Scale/changing pad- this changing pad doubles as a scale and its soo genius! It hooks up straight to your phone and its also super easy to clean and doesn’t have any material on it that you cant just wipe up. That was a must for me with a changing pad I wanted to be able to clean it easily!
Lovevery Play mat- I love that this can be used for your baby’s entire first year since most baby products they grow out of so fast. This set included black and white cards, mirror cards and teething rings and can be used for tummy time!
Bib Pacifier- These have been our favorite! It will likely vary from baby to baby so I suggest trying out a few brands of pacifiers but definitely give these a try!
I am always experimenting and trying to make some easy + healthy snack and Lunch ideas and I think I hit the jackpot with these! They are low carb and SO good. These are great if you follow a keto diet since they have all low carb ingredients and BACON! You can opt out of using real bacon in these obviously and use turkey bacon- I am sure they would be equally as delicious. It took me about 15 minutes total to make these (if that It only took that long since I boiled eggs and made the bacon but you can store this stuff premade in the fridge) and they are great to make as a snack, lunch or even an appetizer! I also took the yolk out of these but you don’t have to! I am not going to list out exact amounts below since it depends how many you are making but I recommend making a few pieces of bacon and a few hard boiled eggs and saving them to make these throughout the week if you are having them as a quick snack/lunch!
Hard Boiled Eggs
Mayo + Sriracha
Everything But the Bagel Seasoning (or salt and pepper)
Hard boil your eggs and prep your Bacon. Mix a little Mayo + Sriracha sauce together to make some spicy Mayo. Slice your eggs and remove the yolk from your eggs (or keep them if you like them!) and add in a little Spicy Mayo on one side. Slice your tomato and lettuce. Assemble each little egg sandwich by placing a little bacon, tomato and lettuce as you would make a sandwich and use a toothpick to keep both sides of the egg together. Sprinkle with some Everything Bagel Seasoning and enjoy!
Alright this “trendy” item could be highly debatable but what does everyone thing about bucket hats?! It seems like its pretty split but I personally have grown to really love them a lot. I have always been a hat person (great for my fellow gals who hate to wash their hair like me LOL) but have stuck to mostly baseball caps so this is a nice little change for me. I am really love this tie dye one and also this nike one is perfect for an athletic look! I am linking up a few others the in below liketoknow.it widget!
