Anyone have any fun holiday plans for this year yet? One of my favorite parts of the holiday season are the cute clothes that come with it! I finally took out some basics from last year like my black long sleeve tops and boots. They are such wardrobe staples and can be added to so many looks.
The holidays for sure are going to look different this year but that won’t stop me from dressing cute💁🏻♀️. I love the classic skirt and boot look! This outfit can easily be recreated with something you already probably have in your closet too! It’s so simple but can be tweaked in so many ways. All you need is a cute plaid skirt, a neutral top and boots and some accessories.
One of my favorite days of the year is here, Black Friday! I love to do a round up of all the best sales during Black Friday weekend since there are so many going on and you can come to a place to see what stores are having sales and what type of discounts there are. I know a lot of people like to wait until Monday to shop the sales for cyber Monday but just seeing a lot of the sales going on this year I will say most stores are going to have their best deals or very similar deals on Black Friday as they would on Cyber Monday- especially this year since most people will be shopping from home.
I am going to list out some of my favorites retailers having sales this weekend and you guys can always come back here for reference!
Thanksgiving will for sure be looking a little different this year but I know I can still rely on ShopRite for everything I need for the upcoming Holiday. I know I usually attend Friendsgiving events each year but this year we will for sure be keeping things small. ShopRite set up a fun Virtual Friendsgiving with me and a few other bloggers and I thought this was such a fun idea! If you are not familiar with ShopRites Price Plus Club, they have a loyalty program where every dollar you spend transfers to points and you can use these points towards a holiday dinner item! Most years we get our holiday turkey on the house from this program and they have a few other options as well. You can learn more about it HERE.
For my course I choose to make a cinnamon bread pudding and let me just say it was a huge hit with my husband! It was also very easy to make.
1 loaf Thomas Cinnamon swirl bread
3 cups milk
4 tablespoons Country Crock butter
1/3 cup sugar (you can add more if you like sweeter)
1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and butter a 9×13 inch baking dish. Over low heat combine the milk, butter, sugar and salt until the butter melts. Set the mixture to the side and allow it to cool down. Mix the cinnamon and eggs and beat together in a separate bowl. Once the milk mixture has cooled down combine the egg mixture and milk mixture.
Cube the loaf of bread (i usually leave the ends out) and put in a baking dish and pour the egg and milk mixture on top. Make sure all the bread is coated. Bake in the oven for 50-60 minutes. I usually serve with a scoop of Bowl & Basket vanilla ice cream! It will stay well for a few days in the fridge just make sure to keep it covered.
For as long as I can remember I do my normal weekly grocery shops at ShopRite! They have the freshest produce and everything I could ever need to make healthy meals throughout the week. I wanted to highlight something I have been doing lately though instead of going to the grocery store- I have been ordering my groceries through the ShopRite App on my phone and having them delivered or picking them up- it’s super easy. You place your order on the app, pick a time slot for delivery/pickup and thats it! Easy, fast and most importantly it allows me more time at home with my Husband and our pets! My favorite thing!
Over the weekend I made some snacks for us to watch the football games! We had our groceries delivered from ShopRite and then we got to work! We made Wonton Tacos or as I call them “taco cupcakes” together and they were SO good. Basically they are just little taco shells with all the stuff thats in a taco. I listed how to do it and what you need below.
1 package Ground Beef or Turkey
1 package Wonton Wrappers
Olive oil spray (i used Pam)
packet Taco Seasoning
about 2 cups Shredded Cheese (I used cheddar)
Toppings! Whatever you like I used Salsa, Guacamole, Sour cream and Olives
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Brown your ground beef and add in the Taco seasoning. In the meantime, Spray a cupcake tray with your Olive Oil spray.
2. Place the wonton wrappers like you would a cupcake paper in each little well. Once your meat is cooked, place about a tablespoon in each wonton wrapper and top the meat with some shredded cheese. Then repeat this again- top with another wonton wrapper, meat, and cheese and you will basically have two layers. I press each layer down with a spoon too.
3. Bake them in the oven for about 8 minutes. Keep an eye on them they brown fast!
4. Garnish your taco cups. I top mine with some guacamole, Sour cream, fresh salsa and black olives. You can add anything though- taco sauce and green onions are some other ideas!
Who else loves popcorn?! I looove more than anything sitting down to watch a movie and having some popcorn (and wine😂 ) and watching a movie. Movie theatre and pre-made popcorn has so many unnecessary things in it like preservatives and not to mention tons of butter and sodium. I have been making popcorn on my stove for years- or you can get an air popper (linked one that is about $30 HERE) I just never really felt it was necessary but it does make it easier if you would prefer not to use your stove top.
I recently have been obsessed with anything truffle since its sooo flavorful! I found truffle oil and a powder truffle zest on Amazon and have been experimenting with it. I have been using it on veggies and pasta and now popcorn and it is SO good. All I do is pop some popcorn in olive oil (since you need a high eat oil) then I drizzle the truffle oil in place of butter and add some of the powdered zest and some sea salt and you have yourself a delicious snack! I linked everything below!
Who else loves Lululemon but hates the price tag that comes along with buying a pair or leggings?! 🙋🏻♀️ The leggings are worth the price tag to me because they literally last forever. I got my first pair probably 6 years ago and I still have them and wear them on a regular basis. I have found that not putting them in the dryer really helps to prolong them and prevent fading.
I was browsing the Lululemon site and came across a ton of really cute leggings and t-shirts on sale! This was seriously SO exciting for me. I had my eye on a few pairs in the print pictures above and snagged myself a pair for $79 when they are normally over $100. If you are a Lulu lover like myself check out the section labeled “We made too much” on their website. They usually have all of their sale items there although it is pretty hit or miss. Linked a few of my favorites on sale below or you can find the sale section of their website HERE.
